Your First Visit

Brief Paperwork

Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. To speed up your first visit, visit our forms download page, and complete the forms at your own pace at your home or workplace and bring them with you on your first visit. This will save you 10 to 20 minutes from your initial visit.

Consultation

Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options.

History and Examination

In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. The doctors perform postural testing, range of motion evaluations, extremity joint examinations (for symptoms involving arms and legs), spinal assessment, and TMJ/cranial system assessment (if needed). In most cases, the patient does not need to be gowned and can stay in their clothing. But please wear clothing that is loose and comfortable to the examination. Tight jeans or a suit would not be the best clothing to wear. Wear clothing you would go work out in, comfortable, loose, and allowing the doctor to perform the examination comfortably. (Gowning may be needed in auto accident cases to document bruising on the skin or other injuries).

X-ray Studies

Your specific condition may require x-rays evaluation to properly diagnose your condition. If x-rays are deemed necessary, the doctors refer practice members to a local digital x-ray center. Additional charges will apply for these services. This is not included in your initial examination fee.

Same Day Treatment

In most cases we try to accomodate our patient's desires to receive treatment the same day as the initial examination. For less complex cases this is possible. Yet for more complex cases where x-rays are needed, or when a comprehensive 1 hour or more exam is needed for auto injury cases, treatment on the same day may not be possible. Each case is unique and we will let you know after your examination if we can provide treatment, or possibly some physiotherapies that day.

Cost

You receive 45 to 60 minutes face to face with the doctor during our comprehensive examination process. The time spent with you depends upon the complexity of your symptoms or injuries. The doctor will go over all his findings with you as well, and talk to you about a treatment program to help you heal from your symptoms or injuries. Our standard initial exam fee for a cash-paying patient is $90. Costs are higher for more complex cases such as auto injuries where much more time is spent in consultation and examination.

Each life-giving chiropractic healing session that follows your initial examination is very reasonable and affordable. Our regular office rate is $65 for cash paying patients and $60 for seniors over 60 years old. Our rate is higher for auto injury care due to the nature and complexity of treatment needed. And to make this even MORE affordable, the doctors offer additional savings for patients who purchase wellness packages for themselves and for their families. You can receive 10 to 15% off your chiropractic fees if you choose one of our lifestyle wellness packages.

We do not accept any insurance as payment for your chiropractic care. Therefore, please be ready to pay for your office visit in full at the time of visit. We accept cash, check, credit cards, and Apple Pay. We will be happy to provide you the insurance forms needed for potential reimbursement from your insurance carrier for your care.

If you were in an auto accident, we will investigate whether you have medical payment coverage on your auto policy. We DO accept your auto insurance "med pay" and we also work with local attorneys should you need one to represent you in cases where medical payment coverage is not available.

Home Instructions

Towards the end of your first visit, you will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.

Schedule Your Appointments

After the doctor presents you your program of care, and you accept it, you will make appointments for the first couple of weeks of care. This will save time with each visit so we don't need to make an appointment every time for the next visit.

Start healing!

Immediately after receiving your first life-giving chiropractic adjustments, your body enters full-on healing mode. What will you notice? A majority of patients feel a sense of improvement with decreased pain, increased mobility, and a sense of better well-being. For those who are experiencing high levels of inflammation, your might feel a little sore inititially. The doctor will recommend ways to bring comfort should you experience soreness after your initial visits.
