Your First Visit

Brief Paperwork

Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. To speed up your first visit, visit our forms download page, and complete the forms at your own pace at your home or workplace and bring them with you on your first visit. This will save you 10 to 20 minutes from your initial visit.

Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options.

History and Examination

In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. The doctors perform postural testing, range of motion evaluations, extremity joint examinations (for symptoms involving arms and legs), spinal assessment, and TMJ/cranial system assessment (if needed).

X-ray Studies

Your specific condition may require x-rays evaluation to properly diagnose your condition. If x-rays are deemed necessary, the doctors refer practice members to a local digital x-ray center. Additional charges will apply for these services. This is not included in your initial examination fee.

Same Day Treatment

The doctors do not usually provide chiropractic treatment on the initial examination visit except for rare cases of severe acute pain or for someone who is visiting the area and is already under care with another chiropractor. For people who are brand-new to chiropractic, the doctors will sit down with you on your second visit and go over with you the exam findings, recommendations, and proposed care program to help you begin experiencing life to the fullest! We are focused on education, excellence, and amazing customer service. We do NOT rush into anything without first completely understanding your health condition and offering a tailored-approach to your healing.

You receive 30 to 45 minutes face to face with the doctor during our comprehensive exam. The doctor then spends an additional 20 minutes to assess and complete your examination findings materials to present to you at your report of findings - which is also included in your exam fee. Your report of findings is another 15 minutes face to face with the doctor. You receive all of this for a very reasonable examination fee. (Personal injury case costs may be higher due to complexity and insurance reporting requirements that involve more of the doctor's time).

Each life-giving chiropractic healing session that follows your initial examination is very reasonable and affordable. (Contact our Castro Valley or Livemore office for exact costs). And to make this even MORE affordable, the doctors offer additional savings for patients who purchase wellness packages for themselves and for their families. You can receive 10 to 15% off your chiropractic fees if you choose our lifestyle wellness package.

Home Instructions

Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.

Schedule Your Next Appointment - The Report of Findings Visit

You will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete review of findings. Treatment options for your condition will also be discussed during this time.
